Sometime in November '04 I met with Oliver in order to build the first pair of pierced glasses. We'd both had the idea for a few years, but decided it was time to make it happen.
Starting as an idea penned out with a marker and a prototype manufactered in a guarage, we haven't changed very much. Really, not at all. Oliver still hand fabricates everything out of aluminum using his tabletop mill. I still just try to look pretty.
I've spent some time casting metals and had gotten a bridge piercing months prior. Oliver's a veteran of producing anything from body jewerly to motorcycle parts.
BME or the Body Modification E-zine was the first to show our new work in an article. Since then, our little baby has been featured in multiple countries and languages, blogged by hundreds, and aired on national news. A list can be found on the media page.
Today we're hard at work designing not just glasses, but a process that'll allow anyone to order a pair of pierced glasses and when they arrive, they're not just completed, but a perfect fit.
